When building Stoned Sundays, we set out to create a brand that not only avoids harming the planet but actively makes a positive impact.
Sustainability is at the core of everything we do— from ethical production and responsible packaging to material recycling and reducing carbon emissions.

A percentage of every purchase supports the freedom and reentry of individuals imprisoned under outdated cannabis laws through The Last Prisoner Project.
The Last Prisoner Project works to bring justice to those still incarcerated for cannabis-related offenses through legal intervention, advocacy, and reentry programs.
Social Responsibility
We've taken two virtual tours of our manufacturing facility and spoken directly with employees and the owner to ensure that every person behind our products is paid fairly and works in a safe, clean environment. Our manufacturer is currently in the process of obtaining BSCI certification as they transition to a new facility
Ethical Production
Material Recycling
-
Biodegradable materials might sound like an eco-friendly choice, but they often contain chemical additives like BPA, BPS, or heavy metals. As they break down, these substances can leach into soil and water, creating unintended environmental harm.
-
Compostable packaging requires high heat and industrial conditions to properly decompose. Additionally, some compostable coatings contain PFAS ("forever chemicals"), which persist in the environment instead of breaking down naturally.
-
That’s why we chose 100% recycled, FSC certified, and fully recyclable paper packaging and mailers, ensuring it can be easily processed through standard curbside recycling.
-
To further minimize our impact, we use soy-based ink, a more sustainable alternative to petroleum-based inks that allows for easier recycling.
-
We chose XPE foam for its safety, durability, and sustainability. Free of hazardous substances, it is non-toxic and safe for both people and the planet. Fully recyclable, it reduces waste and supports a circular economy. Its lightweight design also helps lower transport emissions.
Sustainable Packaging
We ensure that excess materials from our production process are not wasted:
-
Aluminum scraps from our grinder production are melted down and recycled into products like window trims.
-
Zinc alloy waste from our lighter sleeve production is reprocessed to create new lighter sleeves.
-
Excess ceramic coating is treated, stripped of chemicals, and safely disposed of to prevent environmental contamination.
We primarily use sea shipments for our products, which emit significantly less CO₂ than air freight. On average, shipping by sea produces about 47 times fewer emissions than air freight, making it a more sustainable option.
